Updated on:

Gamescom 2025 came with a wave of announcements — some of which were great, some of which… made fans want to play something else (*cough* Call of Duty: Black Ops 7). From anime adaptations and multiplayer DLC to playable demos and surprise sequels, this year’s showcase brought something new for everyone.

Ghost of Yōtei: Legends Returns

Sucker Punch announced a free multiplayer DLC for Ghost of Yōtei in 2026. Think back to the Legends mode in Tsushima: two-player story missions, four-player survival madness, and supernatural bosses. It’s exactly the kind of content we love to see, and it’ll be free if you own the base game. Read more about it (and get a glimpse of concept art) here.

Sekiro: No Defeat — Anime Time

FromSoftware announced Sekiro: No Defeat, a Sekiro anime streaming exclusively on Crunchyroll in 2026. Hand-drawn and faithful to the game, the anime stars the original voice cast — Daisuke Namikawa (Hisoka in Hunter x Hunter) as Wolf, Kenjiro Tsuda (Nanami in Jujutsu Kaisen) as Genichiro, and Miyuki Satou as Kuro. See the trailer and read more about it here.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7

Milo Ventimiglia and Kiernan Shipka headline Black Ops 7, set in 2035. You can expect co-op campaigns, a new PvE mode called Endgame, and a release date on November 14, 2025. And if you want to have a laugh of two, just look at the comments.

Resident Evil: Requiem

Capcom teased the next horror chapter starring Grace Ashcroft, bringing spine-tingling terror and dark, mature storytelling. Resident Evil: Requiem launches February 27, 2026 on all major platforms.

World of Warcraft: Midnight & Legion Remix

Blizzard announced WoW: Midnight, the next major expansion in the Worldsoul Saga, with new zones, story, and player housing finally coming to life. Plus, the Legion Remix lets players revisit fan-favorite content with updated loot and powers.

Hollow Knight: Silksong

Hands-on demos for Silksong finally happened at Gamescom. Playable on PC and the ROG Xbox Ally X handheld, the demo proved that yes, this game is real, it’s playable, and it’s still stunning.

LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight

TT Games is bringing a full Gotham open-world with LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight. Arkham-style combat, local co-op, Batmobile, and a rogue’s gallery featuring Joker, Ra’s al Ghul, Bane, Catwoman, and Batgirl. Launching in 2026 across next-gen consoles, including Switch 2.

Black Myth: Zhong Kui

The sequel to Black Myth: Wukong has been announced as well. Mythic boss fights, gorgeous cinematic moments, and heavy Chinese folklore make Zhong Kui a must-watch for action RPG fans. Learn more about it here.

Zero Parades

Studio ZA/UM’s follow-up to Disco Elysium delivers dialogue-heavy, narrative-driven espionage gameplay with all the existential weirdness fans loved.
