Pokemon GO Raises Level Cap This October

After years of grinding to 50, people are finally getting what they’ve been asking for: Pokémon GO is increasing the level cap all the way to 80 this October. Yeah, that’s right—you’ve got 30 more levels to chase, and Niantic is making the whole process way less of a headache.

So, here’s all changes we’ll see:

Level 50 is no longer the endgame. The new ceiling is level 80, which means more milestones, rewards, and other shiny stuff.

Your old XP isn’t wasted. If you’ve been hoarding XP for years, you’ll probably skyrocket a few levels the second this update drops. No one gets bumped down, only up. And if you somehow get to max level, it would kinda suck but you’ll get all rewards instantly.

No more painful old-school tasks. Remember those random grinds to unlock 41–50? Niantic is scrapping that system for 71–80. Instead, we’ll be getting a fresh batch of Level-Up Research that actually feels worth doing.

Better rewards. We’re talking new avatar gear, more storage upgrades, and unique cosmetics to flex. Even if you missed earlier milestone rewards, there’s new stuff to chase.

And there’s also a pre-launch bonus XP, starting right now. Until October 14, you can stack double XP from throws, raids, and battles. Basically, Niantic’s giving you a head start before the big update.

Are you looking forward to this update? Do you think it’s good? Make sure to leave a comment of what you think.
