Battlefield 6 is shaping up to be the series’ big return to large-scale, all-out warfare. We’re talking massive maps, vehicles rumbling across every corner, and enough explosions to make your graphics card sweat. DICE seems ready to double down on what makes Battlefield… well, Battlefield. If you’ve been missing the franchise, this might be the one to pull you back in.
The game is set to be released on 10th October, 2025 and the price for Standard Edition edition is $69.99 and for the Phantom Edition it’s $99.99 but to play in Beta test – it’s free.
Is the free beta test going to affect sales? And how?
There’s always a certain risk in letting people play the game you’re selling for free. What if it’s not what they expected? Or worse, what if they get their “fill” and decide not to buy it? That does happen, but in this case, the benefits outweigh the risks.
With Battlefield 6 being part of an already established franchise with a solid fanbase, the risk was a lot lower. The loyal players are going to buy it anyway. But now, they get some bonus time with the game and it feels like the devs actually care. And for those who’ve never played it before, it’s a perfect chance to try it out. If they get hooked, which is exactly what the devs are banking on, they’ll likely buy it too.
It’s a smart approach when a game is nearly finished but the devs want to be sure there aren’t any hidden bugs left. No one wants to release something broken and unplayable. That only leads to a flood of negative reviews that can tank sales, or best case, force a delayed launch with acceptable losses.
Conclusion
When it comes to Battlefield, this was a smart move on their part. There’s almost 2 months before the official launch and everybody who played the game so far, loved it. The team behind this, deserves a good Christmas bonus. Were you able to try it yet? Do you think this was a smart move on their part? Let me know in the comments.
