Every Big Game Reveal from The Game Awards 2025 (With Trailers)

We all love to watch great games win awards — but what we love even more is watching new game announcements and seeing what to get excited for! From massive RPG reveals to beloved franchises returning, 2025’s ceremony delivered an avalanche of world premieres, trailers, and surprises. Let’s take a look at what we’ll be playing next!

Larian Studios’ Divinity

Yes — the big, mysterious statue thingy was a teaser for a new Divinity game! I said it looked like something from Larian studios the moment I first saw it and I was right. And the game looks amazing based on that cinematic trailer and everything we know Larian studios can do. They describe it as their biggest game ever, a pinnacle of what they learned from the previous Divinity titles and Baldur’s Gate 3, so you just know it’ll be amazing.

Though, be warned, the trailer is disgusting. A man vomits and pigs eat it, a man melts inside a burning effigy, etcetera. There are no release details, and we don’t know much yet, but still, I can’t wait for this game to come out!

Star Wars: Fate of the Old Republic

One of the most anticipated moments — and perhaps the biggest — was the reveal of Star Wars: Fate of the Old Republic. After years of rumors and hope from fans of BioWare’s classic KOTOR series, this new single-player RPG landed with a trailer teasing a vast galactic adventure helmed by the original genre architects.

New IPs & Creative Indie Flavors

TGA is always a prime spot to discover bold new ideas, and 2025 didn’t disappoint on that front.

4:LOOP

A fresh shooter/roguelike from Sony and Bad Robot was unveiled. 4:LOOP brings cinematic energy and a mysterious vibe. If early impressions are any indication, this one could be one of the year’s breakout experiments.

Coven of the Chicken Foot

Bruce Straley’s new narrative project, Coven of the Chicken Foot,  leapt into the spotlight with a weird and wonderful trailer. At once eerie and whimsical, this adventure stars an older woman and a strange plant creature in a story that’s equal parts survival and partnership.

ONTOS

Horror fans got something truly unsettling in ONTOS, a first-person game from the team behind Soma. The glimpses shown were gritty, visceral, and suggest a 2026 arrival with high body-horror shock value.

Franchise Favorites Return and Expand

Several high-profile series got fresh life:

Resident Evil Requiem

Capcom teased Resident Evil Requiem with a trailer that leans hard into its survival horror roots. While not a full gameplay showcase, it was enough to remind fans this beloved survival saga still has teeth.

Control Resonant

Remedy Entertainment announced Control Resonant, a sequel to their 2019 hit. The trailer was as wild and stylistic as you’d hope, and the game is slated for a 2026 release.

Lords of the Fallen II

Fans of dark fantasy combat got their first real look at Lords of the Fallen II. A polished gameplay trailer brought back the soulslike action with a heavier dose of gothic swagger.

Diablo IV: Lord of Hatred Expansion

Blizzard revealed Diablo IV’s upcoming expansion, Lord of Hatred, bringing new classes and demonic chaos. The expansion is scheduled for spring 2026 and looks packed with end-game content.

Two Tomb Raider Games? Yes. Really.

One of the biggest shocks of the night, and arguably the splashiest announcement, was the simultaneous reveal of not one but two new Tomb Raider games.

Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis

A ground-up remake of the original 1996 Tomb Raider, Legacy of Atlantis reimagines the classic with cutting-edge tech and modernized combat and puzzles. It’s set to launch in 2026 and promises to honor the roots of Lara Croft’s earliest adventures.

Tomb Raider: Catalyst

Looking further ahead, Tomb Raider: Catalyst is a brand-new story built in Unreal Engine 5 and aimed for a 2027 release. This one leans into open-world exploration and mythic narrative depth — and introduces a reimagined Lara Croft with fresh cultural inspiration behind her character.

Strategy, Racing, and Fighters: Something for Everyone

Not all the excitement came from story-heavy RPGs. Other genres got love too.

Total War: Warhammer 40K

Sega revealed that its legendary strategy series is merging with Warhammer 40K in a bold new title. Expect sprawling battles and universe-scale conflict when this one arrives.

Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve

The venerable flight combat franchise is back with Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve, a high-octane aerial combat adventure launching in 2026.

Star Wars: Galactic Racer

Star Wars fans got double the galaxy love: Galactic Racer — a podracing-style high-speed title — was shown off with vibrant trailers and confirms a 2026 release.

Mega Man Dual Overdrive

Capcom surprised fans by unveiling Mega Man Dual Overdrive, a fresh entry in the enduring blue bomber’s lineage due in 2027.

Indie and Quirky Gems Steal Some Limelight

The awards show spotlight also shined on smaller titles with big personalities:

  • Out of Words — a stop-motion co-op platformer with a deeply emotional core.
  • Orbitals — an anime-styled co-op action game with vibrant visuals.
  • Phantom Blade 0 — a wuxia-flavored action title packed with slick combat and style.
  • No Law — a cyberpunk-leaning action game teased with grit and attitude.

Even though indie games rarely dominate headlines the way AAA titles do, this year’s lineup proved once again that smaller studios are pushing boundaries and shaping the medium’s future.
