Naraka: Bladepoint is an action-packed multiplayer battle royale game developed by 24 Entertainment and published by NetEase Games. It’s set in a fantasy world inspired by martial arts, featuring intense and skill-based combat. With a game having 15 million players on average every month, I would hardly call it a failure.
Some would argue it still doesn’t get the recognition it deserves and some would say it’s getting more than deserved. But making the game free-to-play was a smart move which helped a lot with gaining the massive playerbase mentioned.

Unique Combat System
One of the standout features of Naraka: Bladepoint is its fast-paced and highly skill-based combat system. It focuses on melee combat with various weapons, including swords, spears, and other traditional and fantastical weapons. The core gameplay mode is battle royale, where players compete to be the last one standing. If I had to compare it to one game, it would probably be Apex Legends.
The most interesting part for me is the use of grappling hooks as a means of getting around the map. I’m definitely bad at it but it does make me feel like I’m some kind of super ninja from a Leaf village.
Character Abilities
Each character in the game has unique abilities and skills, allowing for diverse play styles and strategies. With over 15 heroes to choose from, you’ll have your hands full for a while. Recently they released a new hero Shayol Wei and I must admit it looks OP. So make sure you check it out for yourself because if I’m right it’s going to get nerfed.

What character should I pick for the start?
The best advice I or anyone can give you is to just pick any and practice until you’re completely familiar with it. In the game character menu, you can see the difficulty of each hero, so you can also just pick one based on that.

Map Design
The game’s map features different environments. It provides a variety of tactical opportunities for players, whether you prefer close-quarters combat or sniping from a distance in open areas. And in my humble opinion, the size of the map could use more than 60 players per match. That or work on decreasing the size of the map for a faster pace.

Should I try out Naraka: BLADEPOINT in 2024?
Naraka seems to be growing even in 2024, and for what it’s worth the game seems like a lot of fun for people who enjoy these types of games. Did I forget to mention it’s FREE? And you stand to lose nothing for downloading it and trying it for yourself. Also, you can play it with friends and enjoy it even more. So the answer would be: Yes, try it out, you might like it.
