Palmon: Survival Game Review: Is It Just Another Pokemon Copy?
During the summer days, time feels like it’s flying by so fast. There’s so many things to do, so many people to see, and so many games to play but by the time I blink, the day is over. So in order to combat these types of days, I’ve developed a system.
I tend to download a game that I can enter at any given time and do what needs to be done and continue with my day. It takes a few minutes ever so often but it’s a much needed dose of relaxation. That’s where the Palmon: Survival comes into play and here is everything you need to know about it.
Gameplay
Palmon: Survival is pretty much what you’d expect when you mash survival crafting with creature collecting, but with mobile-friendly pacing. You gather resources, craft tools, build up a base, and tame these small, oddly cute Palmon creatures to help with everything from farming to combat. The loop is familiar—chop trees, mine rocks, build a workbench—but the added layer of managing Palmons gives it more long-term goals.
You can make your setup mostly automated. Once you tame a Palmon, you can assign it to tasks like guarding your base or helping with production. It’s less hands-on micromanagement and more about setting up efficient systems, which honestly makes it less of a grind than some other survival games.
Combat’s pretty basic. You get melee weapons, some ranged stuff later on, and your Palmon helps out. Don’t expect deep combat mechanics, but it gets the job done for a mobile survival game.

Progression in Palmon: Survival is also pretty straightforward. You gather resources, unlock better tools, expand your base, and collect more Palmon to help automate things. There’s a bit of a grind, especially early on, but once you start assigning Palmon to tasks, it opens up and feels more manageable. New areas unlock as you level up and craft better gear, so there’s always something to work toward, even if it’s not the most original setup.
As for monetization, it’s free-to-play, and yes, it has the usual mobile store. You can buy premium currency, skins, and some boosts. The good news is, at least for now, it’s not super aggressive. I was able to play without spending anything and didn’t feel like I was hitting a wall.
That said, the store is clearly there to speed things up if you don’t want to grind, so how much it gets in the way might depend on your tolerance for mobile game pacing.
And yeah, I almost forgot about it, but there is a slight gacha element to it. There are a certain number of Palmons that you can summon/hatch but that’s just a portion that you can acquire. They’re not even the strongest Palmons but it’s enough to scratch that itch in case you’re a gacha fan.

Graphics
Visually, Palmon: Survival is clean and functional. It leans into a colorful, cartoony style that fits the mobile platform well. Nothing that’s going to blow you away, but it doesn’t look cheap either. The Palmon designs are simple but charming enough to make the collecting aspect feel worth it, and the environments, while not super detailed, do a solid job setting the vibe for exploration and survival.
Performance-wise, it runs decently on most phones. Load times are quick, and I didn’t run into any major frame drops. That said, the UI can feel a bit cramped or clunky depending on your screen size.

Final Words
Palmon: Survival is a game that has a healthy mix of everything and I think you should really check it out. I’ve played it casually for a while now and I didn’t have any off putting issues. Lastly, from what I noticed so far, the community is really active, friendly, and helpful. I haven’t seen any toxicity so far but hey, that might just be me. I might have missed it but anyways, it’s a decent game that you would enjoy.
Stay safe and have fun gaming.
