Project ZETA just flipped the switch on signups for its final closed beta and the timing feels perfect. After months of teasers and gameplay snippets, the game is finally ready for a wider hands-on test. And this isn’t just another stress test, this one is shaping up to be the closest look yet at what the full launch will feel like.
What Exactly Is Project ZETA?
If you haven’t been keeping tabs on it, Project ZETA is a fresh, slightly wild spin on the MOBA formula. Instead of the classic two-team structure, ZETA throws five teams of three players into one big, frenetic battleground where everyone’s fighting for a resource called Prisms. It’s a third-person, action-heavy take on the genre, leaning into mobility, skirmishes, and constant scrapping rather than the slow, traditional lane-push routine.
It also comes with four core roles — Fighters, Marksmen, Assassins, and Mages — each with their own playstyle. If you’ve ever wished MOBAs felt a little more alive in the moment, this might be your jam.
When the Beta Starts and Who Can Join
The final closed beta officially kicks off December 12, 2025, running across two separate weekends — first from December 12–14, and then again December 19–21. Signups are open now, and you can request access directly through Steam or grab a key from one of the ongoing promo giveaways.
Just a heads up: signing up doesn’t guarantee a slot. Keys are limited, and the devs are clearly curating the pool. But if you want in, now’s the time to throw your name in the hat.
What’s New in This Beta
The team calls this their “most complete” version yet, and it definitely feels like the turning point. The roster includes several of the heavily teased heroes, the gravity tank, the teleporting assassin, the stance-switching mage, plus a newly redesigned support built from previous tester feedback.
The main map has also gone through a serious cleanup. The central dynamic objective, which used to feel a bit unpredictable in early test footage, has been tightened up to make big fights feel more purposeful.
Expect the beta to focus on the heavy hitters:
- hero balance
- map flow
- Prism economy pacing
- matchmaking logic
- server stability under real pressure
Basically, all the stuff that has to work flawlessly if the game wants to stand toe-to-toe with the giants.
Why This Beta Matters
Opening signup for a “final” beta is a pretty loud message: Project ZETA is inching toward launch. Whether that next step is an open beta or a full release announcement, we’re close. And honestly, the genre could use something a little weirder and more daring right now, something that doesn’t just re-skin the same formula everyone else is using.
So if you’re curious, grab a spot while you can. Even if you don’t get selected, it’s clear Project ZETA is entering its home stretch. And if this beta lives up to the promise the devs are hinting at, this could be one of the first MOBAs in years that actually shakes things up in a meaningful way.
