Supermarket Together is a co-op simulator on Steam. And with the game being free, there was no reason not to try it myself. I’ve been playing it casually for the past few days and here is everything I think about it.

Gameplay
Supermarket Together gameplay doesn’t consist of anything particularly complicated, though it gets challenging at times. So playing it with friends does help a lot, and it’s more fun.
Also, I’ve tried playing alone and the game is still enjoyable to a degree. Unless you overdo it and then it becomes a chore. That’s the last thing you want to happen, finishing a real job and then hoping on the PC and pretending to do another job.
So what does the actual gameplay consist of?
Firstly, you have to customize your store. You have to name it, put some lights in it, maybe a few plants but mainly you gotta put some shelves in.

Once you do that, you have to add some produce to sell — wouldn’t be a market if it didn’t have any product in it. You start with basic products but as you advance deeper into the game you can unlock more of them to sell and also some nice perks like new employees, work speed, and others.
With a blooming business come all kinds of challenges. Some of them are: keeping the shelves stocked, keeping products in stock, making sure that the store is clean, and last but not least defending against the pesky thieves.
I missed my first encounter with thieves. On a daily report, it said that they stole like 4-5$ worth of stuff. Initially, I was going to let it slide and write it off as a business loss. A few bucks compared to the thousands I was earning was nothing. A decision I would live to regret.
A couple of days after the incident, another happened, and this time they stole OVER 500 AMERICAN DOLLARS. The audacity of them… I had no words. From that moment forward all the thieves got what they deserved, a broomstick on the head. SHOW NO MERCY. Don’t be weak like me.
Besides that little mishap, everything else was smooth sailing, my business was and still booming. I’m definitely on the right path to becoming a mogul.
Graphics & Audio
When it comes to audio, one thing is for sure, it definitely won’t be winning any contests. With that cleared out, I’ve gotta also say that this is a FREE indie game. Can the looks be improved? Yeah for sure, some details and animations can be ironed out but also it looks good enough considering everything.
For the audio portion of the game, there is nothing much to talk about. Again, it’s good enough, background music is relaxing and you can get lost in doing tasks while listening to it.

Final Thoughts
I have to come clean, I definitely enjoyed my time playing the Supermarket Together. I hope they continue to work on it and improve stuff along the way. It’s a great co-op game and I recommend playing with friends.
