Guess what — it’s Monday, which means a new batch of games to look forward to checking out. In this series I’ll be going over the games that are coming out in the current week that piqued my interest. And who knows, one of these games might end up being your favorite. If not, there’s always next week. It’s important to remember that not every week will be packed with awesome games that are life changing. Sometimes, you can play a game once, have fun and never think about it again. Let’s go over the list together and see if you end up liking something:
MIO: Memories in Orbit – 20 Jan, 2026

MIO is a new metroidvania game developed by Douze Dixièmes and published by Focus Entertainment. You get to play as an android called MIO who is stuck inside a gigantic ark called the Vessel. The world is filled with all sorts of danger. The game features 15 big bosses, each with its own unique mechanics and skills. So good luck beating them all. In my long years in gaming, I learned that when it comes to metroidvania, their graphics might not be the best of the best but the art style is always superb. So, for the looks of the game, it doesn’t disappoint.
Bladesong

Bladesong is a new swordmaking game developed by SUN AND SERPENT creations and published by Mythwright. You can forge and design your own sword. From what I’ve seen already, there are a lot of cool designs. It made me think that maybe I should start collecting swords but only if they’re awesome looking like in the Bladesong. In an ideal world, I would love to host a competition to see who can make the best sword and the winner would get his design brought to life. But that just seems like fantasy, at least for now. There’s also a free demo that you can play, so make sure to check it out.
Escape from Ever After – 23 Jan, 2026

Escape from Ever After is an RPG game developed by Sleepy Castle Studio and Wing-It! Creative. The game story revolves around Flynt Buckler, a storybook hero who tries to climb the corporate ladder in order to fight against evil who is trying to use fairytales for their cheap labor. The EFEA was inspired by the classic Paper Mario games, so it’s hitting all sorts of nostalgic feelings. In case you are thinking, it’s just a cash grab banking on those feelings, there’s a free demo that you can play before making any judgement.
Conclusion
The list might be shorter than last week but the games are worthy of checking out. As for me, this week might be very busy so I don’t know if I’ll manage to check all of them out but I’ll try my best. Did any of these pique your interest? Do you think hosting a sword designing competition is a great idea? Also, if you just so happen to know a crazy gifted swordsmith let me know.
